About David Aubrey Jewelry

As President and Chief Designer of David Aubrey Jewelry, Jennifer Arago has been guided by artistic passion since taking art lessons as a young girl. She began her first foray into jewelry while attending nursing school, working as a designer’s apprentice during the day.

“It was there that I learned the trade and discovered that, like drawing, painting, and ceramics, making jewelry was a wonderful creative outlet,” she says.

Encouraged by her mother to start a collection of her own pieces, Jennifer began exhibiting her work at trade shows. Soon after, she was picked up by agents in Atlanta and New York — and David Aubrey Jewelry was born in 1997.

Within just a few years, the brand was generating $3 million in annual sales, and Jennifer realized that making jewelry was not merely a passion — it was her livelihood. When David Aubrey quickly outgrew its first studio in SoHo, she moved her team to a larger space in Jersey City, and later to Bayonne, New Jersey, where the company continues to thrive today.

The Jewelry

David Aubrey Jewelry is meticulously handcrafted from plated and oxidized brass, wood, semiprecious stones, vintage glass beads, resin, acrylic, pearls, and other elements that reflect the brand’s signature blend of texture and color.

The collections range from delicate, meticulously assembled pieces in monochromatic hues to bold, vibrant statement designs. Some collections take on distinctive themes — romantic, vintage, or art deco.

The primary inspirations behind Jennifer’s designs are texture and color.

“Most of the collections start with one finding that excites me. I then gather materials that harmonize beautifully with that first element. Every collection must have a perfect balance of shapes, shades, and textures. Our clients love the distinct and unexpected combinations we create.”

A Global Following

David Aubrey Jewelry has cultivated a devoted following around the world, with collections reaching clients across nearly every continent. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in the U.S. by skilled artisans, reflecting a blend of classic design and modern artistry.

“Our pieces are timeless,” Jennifer says. “They can be worn today or ten years from now. We have everyone from teenagers to octogenarians wearing our collections, which tells me they appreciate our pieces not because they are trendy, but because each is a work of art in its own right. That is the greatest compliment of all.”
